Privacy Policy

Effective September 25, 2026

The short version: Price Watcher doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number, and it doesn't sell your data. We store the products you choose to watch so we can check their prices for you. If you use the free version, ads are shown by Google AdMob, and you choose whether they may be personalised.

Who we are

Price Watcher (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an app for iPhone and iPad that watches the prices of products you add. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at paxmensa@gmail.com.

Information we collect

An anonymous account ID. When you first open the app, we create an anonymous account so your list can be saved. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
The products you watch. This covers the links you add and the details we find for each product: its name, image, price and price history. It also includes any notes you write, whether a product is pinned, and how often it is checked.
Notification settings. If you allow notifications, we store a push-notification token for your device and the type of daily update you picked.
A widget key. This is a random key that lets your Home Screen widgets load your prices. We only store a scrambled (hashed) version of it.
Purchases. Apple processes subscriptions. We receive only whether your Pro subscription is active. We never see your payment details.
Advertising data (free version only). Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, your approximate location based on IP address, and how you interact with ads. With your permission (through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and our consent form), this may include your device's advertising identifier.

We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, browsing history, health data or any other personal content.

How we use it

To check the prices of the products you add and build their price graphs
To send the daily notifications you chose
To show your products in the app and in widgets
To unlock Pro features when you subscribe
To show ads in the free version and to keep the service secure and working

Services we rely on

We use trusted providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service:

Google Firebase handles the anonymous account, stores your product list and sends notifications.
Cloudflare runs our server, which checks product pages on a schedule.
OpenAI reads the text of a product page to identify its name and price. We send it the page content only, never anything that identifies you.
Google AdMob shows ads in the free version. Its privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Apple handles subscriptions and payments.

Your choices

Ads: you can refuse tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can also change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Subscribing to Pro removes ads completely.
Notifications: change them or turn them off at any time in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
Your data: deleting a product from the app deletes it and its price history from our servers. To delete everything linked to your anonymous account, email us at paxmensa@gmail.com.

How long we keep data

We keep your products until you delete them. Products you move to History are kept until you delete them from History. We automatically remove notification tokens once they stop working.

Security

All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your product list is limited to your anonymous account by our database security rules.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
